Form 16 is the summary of the TDS deducted by the employer (in case of an employee) by the other party in the case of any other transactions
Form 16 consist of two parts Viz., Part A and Part B
Part A consists of Details of the person Viz., Name of the person, address of the person, TAN of the person, PAN number of the person
Part B consists of details of amounts deducted from different deductors.
Now here is the process to download form 16 in PDF format from Traces.
The following steps to download form 16 in PDF format from Traces.
Step 1 :
Search TDS Traces in google chrome
a screen will appear showing TDS traces (https://www.tdscpc.gov.in/app/login.xhtml)\
on appearing on the screen click the first link.
On clicking the link a screen as shown in the above picture will appear.
Fill the credentials on the above-appeared screen
User ID, Password, TAN of the deductor enter the verification code shown on the screen and click on the login
Step 2 :
Then the above-shown tab will appear with some tabs
Go to the downloads tab and click on form 16.
Download tab –> form 16
Step 3:
We can download form 16 in two ways Viz., Individual and Bulk download
Individual download:
Select financial year and enter PAN number and click on add and then Go
Bulk PAN download:
Select financial year click on Go
Step 4:
Then the below-shown dialogue box will appear and click on the submit button.
Step 5:
At this point, we have to validate either with DSC or Normal KYC (OTP)
Step 6:
DSC: Insert DSC and a dialogue box will appear there we have to enter the password. Then we have to select the name of the token.
Step 7:
Now again on the home page go to requested downloads
Step 8:
Then a tab with Three checkboxes will appear with that we can search with the request number or with a date or with a view all by checking the check box.
on clicking the below-displayed item a ZIP file will be downloaded
Step 9:
For opening Form 16 we need a utility to open it if the utility is installed in the device that is fine if not we have to download the utility in the downloads tab
There will be separate utilities for Part A and Part B
Step 10:
On installing the utility have to browse the downloaded file on your PC and type the password and give the path where it has to save and click on proceed.
